Jones County Sheriff Butch Reece released information last week concerning a large number of individuals in the Middle Georgia area who were recently arrested on charges in violation of the Georgia Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

Multiple defendants were arrested Oct. 22 and more have been arrested since that date. The sheriff said a total of 50 people had been arrested in the case to date.

Reece said Jones County began the investigation in August, focusing on Robert Olin Rosser, who lives on the northern portion of the county. He said sheriff’s departments in Putnam and Baldwin counties soon joined the investigation of the drug distribution organization that dealt mostly with methamphetamine.
