Citizens’ complaints about drug activity in a community was the driving force behind the arrest of a Haddock man on charges of the possession and sale of cocaine.

Debarus Sherod Bowden, 29, was arrested Feb. 12 and charged with Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act, possession of cocaine; three counts of VGCSA, sale of cocaine; and three counts of transactions in drug related objects.

Jones County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Robert Reece said Bowden turned himself in after he found out about warrants that had been issued for his arrest. The suspect is currently incarcerated in the Jones County Law Enforcement Center on a probation hold for the drug charges.

Reece said the department has received numerous complaints about Bowden and the traffic to his home.
