We practically lived outdoors winter, spring, summer and fall, participating in sports, hunting, fishing, etc. When I was 17 years old the Vietnam War was in full swing. While serving, I developed leadership skills to identify opportunities for improvement. This continuous personal growth ultimately allowed me to retire from the United States Navy as the deputy director for Command Control Communications and Computers (C4) at the Caribbean Regional Operations Center in Key West, Fla.
After retiring I entered the business world, where I served as a regional marketing manager serving Georgia, Florida and South Carolina.
