For the second year in a row, the Greyhounds had 10 wrestlers qualify for the state east sectional by finishing in the top four at the Region 2-AAAAA meet, held last Saturday at Northside High School in Warner Robins.

The team placed second overall to Grovetown.

Tim Randolph (120 pounds), Nick Nelson (126), Seth Killgo (138) and Daniel Curry (195) all won region titles in their weight classes.

Torrez Finney was second at 170 pounds. Sherrod Shahid (113), Tyler Dukes (132) and Scott Rooks (220) placed third, and Colton Blount (106) and Mohammad Smart (285) were both fourth.

Smart suffered a torn labrum in his shoulder during the region meet, however, and will not be able to compete in the sectional, which will be Friday and Saturday at Cambridge High School in Milton.

The top four wrestlers in each weight class from regions 2, 3, 4 and 8 qualified for the east sectional. The top eight in each class at the sectional will advance to the state individual tournament to be held Feb. 13-15 at the Gwinnett Center.
