Team members, family and friends of the USSSA 10-and-under World Series Championship team celebrated their victory with a banquet last weekend at Firefly’s Restaurant in Gray.

Coach Matt Goins was the master of ceremonies for the Dec. 7 event that focused on the 10 girls from the Middle Georgia area who traveled to Orlando last July and brought home the top prize.

Approximately 60 people attended the banquet, including state USSSA director Jerry Parham, district USSSA director Kenny Parker and team sponsor Lester Miller.

The girls who were members of the championship team were Alissa Rozier, Kaitlyn Brower, Kloey Goins, Makenna Talcott, Whitley Ward, Maddie Langevin, Grace Hiller, Hannah Wood, Bailey Caldwell and Bailey Barnett.

Since that time, three more girls have joined the team – Lily Mueninck, MacKenzie Kilpatrick and Jaylen Darley. The Jones County players on the team are Goins, Ward and Talcott.

The banquet was to celebrate their victory and award them their championship rings.
