The Greyhounds opened preseason practice with 64 players dressed in helmets and shorts last Thursday, most of them returning sophomores, juniors and seniors, along with just a few freshmen new to the program. They quickly progressed to workouts in full pads this week.
The rest of the freshman class was to begin practice Aug. 1.
