The Lady Hounds won a pair of matches last week, avenging their only loss so far this season with a 3-2 win in a rematch with Dodge County in Gray on Tuesday and downing Houston County 4-1 in their subregion opener on Thursday.

The Jones County boys downed Dodge County 5-0 before falling 3-2 at Houston County for their first loss of the season, coach Alisha Gordon reported.

Both the boys and girls are now 3-1 on the season. They host Northside-Warner Robins in another subregion match at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.

The Jones County girls won all three singles matches against Dodge County, with Jazmine Washington downing Kylie Erwin 7-5, 6-4, Makayla Schafer topping Brenna Hutcheson 6-2, 6-4, and Sarah Pounds beating Myranda Burch 6-4, 6-3.

The Lady Hounds didn’t fare as well in doubles, with Olivia Lane and McKenzie Barnes falling to Lillie Douglas and Faith Manning 7-6, 1-6, 4-6, and Kaitlyn Holder and Rosanna Baker losing to Lila Coleman and Madelyn Pruitt 2-6, 4-6.

In singles for the Greyhounds, Jacob Wills won 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 over Dallas Hardin, Coleman Hice won by forfeit when Dodge did not have a No. 2 singles player, and Robby Lanterman blanked Dwight Inman 6-0, 6-0.
