After last Tuesday’s games with Northside-Warner Robins were postponed twice due to cold weather and broken waterlines, the Jones County varsity basketball teams won three of four weekend games against Dublin and Georgia Military.

The Greyhounds won both of their games to improve to 10-5 on the season. They edged the Irish 68-66 in Dublin on Friday when Landrevious Bowden scored on a layup with a second remaining, and they held off a late Georgia Military rally at home on Saturday to win 55-52.

The Lady Hounds lost 49-32 at Dublin but bounced back to down Georgia Military 25-19 at home on Saturday, improving to 4-11.

The Northside games have been rescheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 22, in Gray, with the girls starting at 6 p.m. and the boys following at 7:30 in a special white-out contest. Jones County supporters are urged to wear white for the games, and those who do will receive reduced admission prices - $1 for students and $3 for all others.

In another schedule change, the Greyhounds’ games at Northside-Warner Robins in a couple of weeks have been moved up a day to Friday, Jan. 31.

Jones County has road games this weekend, facing region foe Warner Robins at 7 p.m. on Friday and visiting Monticello at 3 p.m. Saturday for non-region play.
