Junior Tim Randolph ran his record to 22-0 by going 9-0 to win the 113-pound division in the Hurricane Duals Friday and Saturday. Heavyweight Jackson Williamson, a senior, improved to 15-0 with his 9-0 sweep in winning in Monticello.
Jones County was 7-2 as a team in the Monticello duals meet, good for third place behind Social Circle and host Monticello.
“I was a little disappointed we didn’t finish ahead of Monticello. We had beaten them a couple of weeks earlier in the Baldwin tournament,” coach Daniel Lewis said. “But we had three starters who weren’t there for various reasons, and that hurt us. Still, I was happy with the way the guys we had there wrestled.”
The Greyhounds are now 18-4 for the season.
