The Greyhound grapplers won a pair of matches at Howard High in Macon last Thursday, but they didn’t fare as well in a tough individual tournament at Social Circle on Saturday.

“I don’t have our individual scores for the Howard meet, but we wrestled fairly well,” coach Jay Crook said. “We didn’t come out as good Saturday at the Redskin Rumble, but it was a very tough tournament.”

Tim Randolph (120 pounds) and Scott Rooks (220) both finished second in Social Circle for the Greyhounds.

Mohammad Smart (285) was third, and Seth Killgo (138) and Torrez Finney (170) both placed fourth.

The Region 2-AAAAA individual tournament is scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. at Northside High in Warner Robins.

Jones County won the region duals earlier this month, so Crook is hoping the Greyhounds have another good showing in the individual format. The top four in each weight class in the region meet will advance to the state sectional to be held at Cambridge High, Feb. 7-8.
