After beating up on each other for the last four weeks, the Greyhounds finally get to hit someone else on Friday night when they visit Locust Grove for a preseason scrimmage game.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The regular season opens next week at Morgan County.
“I doubt we’re ready as far as knowing everything we need to know, but we’re more than ready to finally play somebody else and see what we have,” said new coach Justin Rogers.
Rogers, who was offensive coordinator at state champion Griffin last season, has installed a new spread offense, and he is anxious to see just how well his charges have picked up the new scheme after running the wing T the last six years under Dwight Jones. Jones left to coach at Harris County.
“The guys have learned a lot and made a lot of progress, but you don’t really know where you are until you face someone else at full speed,” Rogers said.
