The Jones County soccer teams were eliminated by Greenbrier in the opening round of the Region 2-AAAAA Tournament last Tuesday in Augusta.

The boys fell 5-1, and the girls lost 10-0.

Coach Duane Kitchens said Adam Sole scored the Greyhounds’ only goal against the top-seeded Wolfpack.

Jones County finished its first season under Kitchens with a 4-9 record.

“I am looking forward to next year and working with the returning guys,” Kitchens said. “We will miss the four seniors as they move on to college life and the Navy.”

Lady Hounds’ coach Tamoco Hill said Grace Henderson had 34 saves for Jones County, but Greenbrier’s top-seeded girls still managed to score 10 goals.
