The Lady Hounds moved to 6-0 last week by beating Perry 6-2 Monday night.

The Lady Hounds took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Jazmine Washington led off with a walk, advanced to second on a passed ball and went to third on a wild pitch. She scored when safety Kaitlin Stokes squeezed her home.

Perry went up 2-1 in the bottom of the third inning. With two outs left, fielder Sammy Gidney laid down a bunt single, stole second, and scored on shortstop Mattie Hamilton’s double to the fence in left center.

Hamilton would later score Perry’s second run of the inning on a single to left by Courtney Winston.

Perry’s lead didn’t last long as the Lady Hounds tied it in the top of the fourth. Kaitlin Woodward led off with a sizzling double down the left field line. She scored pitches later when Mackenzie Barnes doubled to right center.

Barnes advanced to third on an Olivia Lane grounder to first and was called out on a squeeze play at home off a bunt by Madison Cavender.
