Lady Hounds humming along behind Dumas, Standifer

The Lady Hounds, led by senior Victoria Dumas, freshman Jasmine Standifer and their relay teams, finished third in an eight-school meet at First Presbyterian in Macon last Wednesday, then topped that with a second place finish in the 12-school Middle Georgia Invitational in Barnesville on Saturday.

The Jones County boys were fifth at FPD and ninth in Barnesville.

At the FPD Invitational in Macon last Wednesday, Dumas won the 100-meter hurdles in 16.68 seconds and Standifer won the 400 meters in 59.2 and was second in the 200 meters with a 26.34 to lead the Jones County girls.

The girls’ 4-by-100 relay team was second with a 51.62, and the 4-by-400 team was also second at 4:27.38.

Dumas did even better in Barnesville on Saturday, winning both the 100 hurdles and the 300 hurdles. She ran a 16.31 in the 100 hurdles and broke her own school record in the 300 hurdles with a 47.92.
