A 1-4 week isn’t what the Lady Hounds are accustomed to, but at least they won the game that mattered most, downing Northside-Warner Robins in their first region contest.

The Lady Hounds began a busy four-day stretch with a 5-2 loss to West Laurens at home on Wednesday.

The Lady Raiders used a double, a single, three walks and a ground out to score three runs in the second, then added two more in the third on a pair of singles and a Jones County error.

The Lady Hounds scored once in the second on a double by Kaitlin Woodward and RBI single by McKenzie Barnes. They added their final run in the seventh on a double by Taylor Bennett, an error and a RBI ground out by Kylie Bass.

Barnes took the loss, giving up all five runs on four hits and four walks in three innings. Woodward held West Laurens scoreless over the final four innings, allowing only two hits, walking three and hitting one batter.
