The Jones County Lions Club installed their new officers for the coming year at last week’s meeting.

The new top lion is Neil Deese, who was installed June 27 as the club’s president. The gavel was passed to Deese by the previous president, Marshall Flewellyn. and former president Bobby Daniels was voted Lion of the Year by his fellow members.

The new officers were installed by Paul May, who was the 2010-11 Georgia Lions Club district governor and has been a member of the Milledgeville Lions Club for 25 years. May said he has held every office in the Milledgeville club with the exception of secretary. He is currently serving as the treasurer for the Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind.
