An arrest at a restaurant in southern Jones County resulted in charges of possession of illegal drugs with the intent to distribute.

Investigator Robert Reece, with the Jones County Sheriff’s Department, said Omar Young, 35, was arrested March 5 following a tip that he would be in the area.

Young was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent, possession of Ambien with intent, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and the use of a communication device to participate in an illegal drug transaction.

Reece said Young was found with a quantity of the drugs he planned to distribute in Jones County. He said the suspect has 17 prior arrests.
