LAURENS COUNTY: Gordon “Randy” Randall Oxley, 58, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Memorial services are being held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory. Moderator Albin Watson is officiating. The family is receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Randy made a special request that everyone attending his memorial service please wear casual attire to celebrate his life.

Mr. Oxley was born on Aug. 5, 1955, in Macon. He was the son of the late Annie Jean Collins Oxley. He had lived in Laurens County for 38 years. He attended school in Bibb County and later graduated from Jones County High School and Middle Georgia College. He was employed as a paramedic for Johnson County Emergency Medical Services and Heartland EMS. He was the vice president of Drug & Alcohol Testing of Georgia and he was a member of Dublin Masonic Lodge #75.

Mr. Oxley is survived by his loving wife, Rose Ware Oxley of Dublin; a father, David Edison Oxley of Gray; two sons, Justin Cody Oxley of Lockhart, Texas, and Michael James (Krista) Ware of Bonaire; two daughters, Christy Oxley (Jay) Lord of Dublin and Diane Marie Needer of Dublin; a brother, Greg (Rhonda) Oxley of Gray; a sister, Linda (Randy) Couey of Smyrna; and seven grandchildren, Joe Lord, Olivia Lord, Gracie Ware, Gunnar Ware, Kristen Brady, Jonathan Bentley and Alexus Needer.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Oxley to the Johnson County Fire Department, c/o Shawn Wombles, P.O. Box 269, Wrightsville, GA 31096 or to Southern Care Hospice, 2311 E. First St., Vidalia, GA 30474.
