HADDOCK: Bessie Elizabeth Fountain Vice, 77, of Stallings Road, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, in a local nursing home. The family greeted friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, at Bridges Funeral Home in Gray. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, at Hillsboro Baptist Church, with burial following at Fullerton Memorial Garden Cemetery in Jasper County. The Rev. John McDuffie officiated the services.

The daughter of the late Chandler Seaborn Fountain and Ida Augusta Newberry Fountain, Mrs. Vice was born in Gordon on Jan. 27, 1936, and had lived in Haddock for the past 12 years. After completing her education, she worked as a secretary for Mini Foods Inc. and was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church.

Mrs. Vice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Danny Moore; son and daughter-in-law, Mike Kitchens and Vickie Holder; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Joe Sellers; sisters and brother-in-law, Bettye “BJ” and Roger Resseau and Annette Fountain Arnold; brother and sister-in-law, Lamar and Patricia Fountain; and by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
