GRAY: Frances Marion Hawkins Watts, 89, of Virginia Avenue, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at a local hospital. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 3, graveside, at Elam Memorial Gardens in Gray, with the Rev. Gary Thomas officiating.

Mrs. Watts was born in Gray on Sept. 16, 1923, and was a lifelong resident. The daughter of the late Edmond Vernon Hawkins and Minnie Lou Christian Hawkins, she worked as a bookkeeper at the Bank of Gray. Mrs. Watts was a member of Elam Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Watts.

Mrs. Watts is survived by her son, Billy D. Watts; granddaughters, Susannah Watts and Deanna Watts; sister, Marjorie Thomas; brother and sister-in-law, Preston and June Hawkins; and by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Elam Baptist Church, 203 Elam Church Road, Gray, GA 31032.
