The Jones County Law Enforcement Center hosted a number of individuals over the Thanksgiving holiday who were arrested last week on drug charges.

Investigator Robert Reece said Tony Bernard Brown, 20, Antwan Javon Tennyson, 30, and Orlando Tarain Avan, 39, all of Macon, were arrested Nov. 27, and the three were charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

Avan was also charged with driving with a suspended license.

Reece said the arrests took place at 5 p.m. as the result of a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Shurling Drive. He said the traffic stop resulted from an ongoing investigation.

In addition to the arrests, officers seized 16 bags of meth, 10 bags of powdered cocaine, 18 baggies of crack cocaine, and 46 individual bags of marijuana.

“This is a lot of drugs; it was a one-stop shop. There is no doubt these drugs were packaged to sell,” Reece stated. “This was good luck for us and ought to put a dent in the drug sales around here.”
