The balance of Patricia LaShawn Smith’s five-year sentence was revoked to state prison Jan. 17 by Superior Court Judge James Cline. The sentence is not to exceed May 24, 2015, the end date of the original sentence.
Smith pled guilty May 25, 2010, to the charge of theft by taking. She was sentenced to five years and allowed to serve it on probation.
Assistant District Attorney Keagan Waystack said Smith violated her probation with new offenses of forgery and fraud in Baldwin County Sept. 3, 2012. She said the defendant also violated probation by absconding supervision.
Smith stipulated to the violations.
According to a report of her arrest, July 11, 2009, Jones County Deputy John Jackson responded to a call at a local auto sales lot in reference to fraud.
