Ferst Foundation representatives visited the Rotary Club of Jones County, and their program resulted in a challenge that, if met, could raise close to $3,000 for the cause.

Hoyt Brown is Jones County’s champion for the Ferst Foundation that puts books into the hands of children under the age of 5 each month. He has been a cheerleader for the organization since September of 2008.

Under Brown’s leadership, Rotary has supplied the funds to mail books to all the students in Jones County’s Headstart program for the past five years. The Jones County Board of Education has joined Rotary and is sponsoring the children in the WIC program.
