James Michael Wimberly stipulated to violating his probation April 18 and was sentenced to serve the remainder of his sentence in the state penal system not to exceed the end date of his sentence, April 25, 2016.
His original arrest was Nov. 12, 2010. Wimberly was indicted on the charge of Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act, possession methamphetamine, by a grand jury, Feb. 7, 2011. He pled guilty to the offense April 25, 2011, and received five years probation.
The defendant was arrested for the new offenses of aggravated assault and arson March 29.
According to a report of the most recent crimes by Jones County Sheriff Department Deputy William Pruitt, he was called to a residence on Jones Mill Circle in reference to a domestic dispute. The deputy arrived on the scene at approximately 10 p.m., accompanied by Deputy John Simmons.
