The camp was conducted by Gray Station Middle School coach Travis Lawson with the help of other coaches from the county’s middle school and high school staffs – Charles David, Travis Reese, Chris Martin and Clay Brindger.
“We had a great week,” Lawson said. “It was a good group of kids. They were focused and worked hard and learned a lot while having a lot of fun. We had some good athletes in the group.
“I’d like to thank (Jones County head football coach Dwight) Jones for coming to speak to the group, principal Chuck Gibson for letting us use the field, all the coaches who helped out, and our sponsors – Team Sports, Middle Georgia Vending and Taylor Trophies.”
In addition to drills on football skills, the campers also played flag football most days.
