The Golden Hawks made it a clean sweep for Washington County, blowing past Westside-Macon 58-45 for the boys’ championship.
The Jones County boys won one of three games in the tournament to finish fourth.
Sophomore Allisha Gray scored 19 points to lead the Washington County girls in the title game on Thursday night, but that was actually not bad defense against her by the Lady ’Hounds. Gray, who was the tournament MVP, tallied 32 against Northside-Warner Robins in the first round and 25 against Westside in the second.
“She’s playing on a different level from the rest of the girls,” Jones County coach Lance Pittman said of Gray. “Even when she doesn’t have the ball, she’s affecting the game. She’s always looking at the whole floor and is aware of everything going on and thinking how she can be involved to help her team.
