The Lady ’Hounds finished with a 13-13 record.
The Lady Tigers (23-5) went on to down Woodland 47-45 in the semifinals and Alcovy 50-39 in the championship game to win the region title.
Alcovy (25-3) downed Fayetteville (25-2) 73-60 in the boys’ championship game.
Heather Rushin, who missed Jones County’s first round game with a separated shoulder suffered in the final regular season game, returned to hit five 3-pointers and lead the Lady ’Hounds with 15 points, and fellow junior Jessica Solomon added 12 points. Seniors Shermaine Pinkard scored 8 points and Chavon Lloyd added 6.
