The Solomon brothers provided much of the offense for the Greyhounds last Wednesday as they downed Veterans 44-20 in the opening game of the season for the Jones County ninth-grade team.

Tyric Solomon opened the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown run, then he hit his twin brother Tyrell with a 48-yard halfback pass for Jones County’s second touchdown.

Tyric Solomon also had a 70-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the second half and a two-point conversion, and he intercepted a pass on defense.

Chandler Ramage also ran for two touchdowns and a pair of two-point conversions, and Logan Gordon chipped in another touchdown with a 3-yard run in the second half and ran for two points.

Coach Neal Dabbs said Gordon and Elijah Rooks led the defense in tackles.
