DDA Chairman Bert King addressed the council at the Sept. 17 meeting about the master plan to be presented.
The DDA was reactivated in September of 2008, and Sherri Rollins was selected as a member of the authority. She spoke at last week’s meeting and told council members that the master plan has been the goal and primary focus of the authority.
Rollins said the members worked with the Department of Community Affairs to find out the process and visited other cities to see what they had done. In 2010 the DDA went through the selection process for a firm to create the master plan, and she said they received a great response.
Tim Ingram and the firm of Ingram and Associates was selected.
“They asked to work with a steering committee that included individuals representing the Board of Education, Tri-County EMC, the city, county, and other interested parties,” she said.
