JONES COUNTY: Daniel Glen “Paladin” Vaughan, 74, of East Virginia Avenue, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at a local hospital. The family greeted friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at Bridges Funeral Home in Gray. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2, in the sanctuary of New Hope Baptist Church, with interment at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. The Rev. Len Woodard and Russell Hancock officiated.

Mr. Vaughan was born Nov. 7, 1937, in Petersburg, Va., and had lived in Jones County for the past 27 years. He was the son of the late Thomas Vaughan and Eunice Babb Vaughan. Mr. Vaughan was a retired packer operator for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corporation with 38 years of service. He was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was very passionate about visiting the sick at the hospital. Mr. Vaughan was also a member of the Lions Club.

Mr. Vaughan is much loved by his wife of 23 years, Joyce Hancock Vaughan; sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Cindy Hancock, Tim and Geni Hancock and Rusty and Kathy Hancock; sister, Selesa Vaughan Rugar; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
