Jones County Water Administrator Brandy Watkins and Water Superintendant Freddie Wiggins presented DFCS with two Thanksgiving dinners donated for needy families by water department employees.
Board Chairman Preston Hawkins called the meeting to order at 6 p.m., and it was adjourned by 10 minutes after the hour.
Action items for the Nov. 20 meeting were reappointing Bill Dewberry to the Planning and Zoning Commission, and Greg Mullis, Dottie Walker, and Randy Griffin to the Development Authority of Jones County. All the terms are due to expire Dec. 12, 2012. The terms are for four years.
The commissioners approved a beer and wine license for Shailesh S. Desai with a vote of 3-1. Commissioners Chap Nelson, Bert Liston, and chairman Hawkins voted to approve with Commissioner Tommy Robinson opposed.
Recreation Director Matt Goins was the only department head to give a report at the meeting. He said the Gray Bowl football tournament included 13-14 teams and went great.
