The Jones County tennis teams swept Georgia Military in a home match last Thursday.

A home match against Warner Robins on Monday was postponed until Tuesday by rain, and a match against Houston County at home last Tuesday was halted midway through by rain.

Coach Alisha Gordon said her players are improving but they need to play more matches to keep sharpening their skills.

“Hopefully we won’t have many more rainouts. We aren’t going to make up the Houston County match unless we need to for the region standings,” she said.

The Lady Hounds blanked Georgia Military 5-0.

In singles, Kaley Clay defeated Audrey Harris 8-5, Jazmine Washington topped Maddie Allen 8-4, and Sarah Pounds beat Meredith Riner 8-0.
