Landon Vaughn went 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBIs to lead the hit parade, but he had plenty of help. Josh Pinnell was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, Anthony Harrison was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Walker Juhan homered and Chandler Green doubled for Jones County, which improved to 4-2 on the season.
Senior right-hander Brandon Spivey picked up the win, giving up four runs, only two earned, on five hits and two walks in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out six.
Jacob Walden finished the game with 1 2/3 innings of hitless relief, striking out three.
The Irish scored single runs in the first and second to take a 2-0 lead, using a walk, stolen base, error and sacrifice fly to plate the first run and back-to-back doubles to score the second.
But the Greyhounds wiped out that lead with a seven-run outburst in the bottom of the second.
