The Jones County gymnastics team will host its final home match Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Gym Nest in Macon.

“We would love to have a good turnout to watch the girls compete. They’ve worked very hard and improved so much this season,” coach Jeanine Wilson said. “And we’ll also have some very good gymnasts from other schools competing, so it should be a lot of fun.”

Cheyenne Harrison competed for the Lady Hounds in a meet at Oconee County on March 15, securing her best scores of the season on the beam and floor despite a bad fall from the beam.

“A lot of girls would have been done for the day after the fall she had,” Wilson said. “But she got up, finished her routine, iced her injury and then had her best routine of the year on the floor. I was very proud of her.”

Golf Hounds win twice

The Greyhounds won head-to-head matches against Northeast and Northside-Warner Robins last week and finished fifth out of 14 teams in the Demon Invitational hosted by Warner Robins High at International City Golf Club on Saturday.
