Aikeem Montreal Person, 18, was arrested April 27, 2012, on the charge of burglary and was released May 1, 2012, on a $10,000 bond. He pled guilty to the charge in Jones County Superior Court April 4 and received a sentence of eight years with the first 120 days in Jones County Law Enforcement Center suspended upon entry into probation detention center for 180 days. The remainder of the sentence may be served on probation.
Assistant District Attorney Gregory Bushway told the court that Person entered a house on Bethune Downs Court and was identified through the car he was seen driving when leaving the residence.
A report of the burglary by Jones County Deputy Paul Hathaway stated that he responded to the call on Bethune Downs Court at 10 a.m., April 27, 2012, in reference to a burglar alarm.
When he arrived the homeowner was already on the scene. She said she returned home from work because the alarm company notified her that her home alarm was activated.
