BREAKING NEWS: Former contractor pleads guilty to more than 20 charges

Former Gray contractor and developer Jonathan Dwight Carter plead guilty today in Jones County Superior Court to eight counts of conversion of payments, six counts of false swearing, 12 counts of felony theft by taking, and two counts of misdemeanor theft by taking. Carter received a total of 30 years probation for the charges and must pay restitution to his victims in the amount of $146,000.

I can't believe that someone can steal so much money and victimize so many people and not get any jail time.

And how is he going to pay $146,000 in restitution when he doesn't have a job? Who would hire him now? He is a criminal.

He works at Sears. I was going to buy a washer and dryer there but changed my mind when i saw. I was shocked to see him there with access to peoples financial information and social security numbers after seeing him on the front page of the paper.
