The hurdler ran for a touchdown and the tennis player threw a touchdown pass to the basketball player as the seniors defeated the juniors 14-0 last Tuesday in the annual powder puff football game at Jones County High School.

Oh, and another basketball player/sprinter ran for a two-point conversion.

The role-reversal game to raise money for the cheerleading program also featured some of the senior and junior guys dressed in the cheerleader outfits, complete with hair bows and lipstick, to boost spirits on the sidelines and perform at halftime.

Their dance routine was OK, but they weren’t much to look at, and their cartwheels and tumbling needed a lot of work.

The girls, meanwhile, had a spirited game of flag football that included a few tackles and holding penalties but no obvious hair pulling.

Track star Victoria Dumas ran for a touchdown in the first half, and tennis player turned quarterback Ashley Mills hit basketball player Heather Rushin with a touchdown pass in the second half for the senior girls. Jalisa Hammock, another basketball and track athlete, ran for a two-point conversion after the second touchdown to complete the scoring.
