Jones County High School tennis coach Alisha Gordon conducted a tennis camp last week at the school courts and was encouraged that a number of middle school students were among those who took part.

“It was a good group, and hopefully some of these middle school students will come out and join the tennis team when they get to high school,” she said. “They all worked hard and had fun.”

Gordon also is excited because the six courts at the school are scheduled to be resurfaced later this month.

“We’re all really looking forward to that for the coming school year,” she said. “They should be very nice.”
