Keith Renard Pittman-James, 26, is back in the Jones County Law Enforcement Center following a July 11 bond hearing in Superior Court. Chief Superior Court Judge William Prior stated, if the evaluation results are acceptable, the bond for Pittman-James may be reinstated.
The defendant was arrested Feb. 3 and charged with burglary, simple battery under family violence, armed robbery, intimidation, and taking a controlled substance.
He was granted a bond May 16 over the objection of the state with the stipulation that the mental evaluation take place.
Assistant District Attorney Gregory Bushway prosecuted the case and stated in the July 11 hearing that he was asking bond be revoked because Pittman-James did not show up at Central State for the evaluation appointment.
Bushway said that, on the date of his arrest, while living on his grandparents’ property, the defendant went to his grandparents’ home with co-defendant Caleb Osborn, robbed his grandfather, and pushed him to the floor.
