Robinson’s motion to adopt employee pay scale dies

The Jones County Board of Commissioners had a relatively calm first Tuesday meeting this month despite a contentious committee meeting that preceded it.

The Sept. 3 meeting began with a planning and zoning request to allow a travel trailer to be used as an accessory dwelling unit.

Zoning officer Tim Pitrowski presented the petition to board members and explained that regulations have been amended to allow a temporary use if it is needed due to a disability.

Commissioner Tommy Robinson made a motion to approve the request, and it passed unanimously.

New business

Building Maintenance Director Bobby Bonner spoke to the board about an open part-time position for his department. He said he has advertised for the position for four weeks but has received no response from anyone qualified.
