In an interview about his candidacy last week, Loosier said the decision to run for city council came from a desire to serve the people who have supported him and his business for years.
He is vying to become the council member to represent the city’s District 3, opposing incumbent Terrell Fulford.
Loosier said he has always been interested in helping the community but because of his business location, that outreach has mostly been in Macon.
“I feel like I’m at a time in my life that I want to give back and serve the community where I live,” the candidate said.
Loosier said he enjoys living in Gray and is convinced the bedroom community has a lot of potential. He said many people want to live in a small town and enjoy that lifestyle but also want the convenience of a larger city. He feels like Gray can offer that.
