The theft of a trailer full of furniture that took place in June was resolved recently with a guilty plea in Jones County Superior Court.

Anthony O’Neal Hightower, 47, of Macon, received 10 years probation Oct. 3, for the felony offense of theft by receiving stolen property.

A report of Hightower’s arrest by Jones County Deputy Harley Davis states that he responded to a call June 5 in reference to a lookout for a white truck pulling a Rooms To Go trailer.

Davis spotted the truck on Graham Road, and, accompanied by a Macon Police officer, stopped it. Hightower was the driver of the truck. The officers asked the driver where he got the Rooms To Go trailer and Hightower said he picked it up at exit 160 on I-16 for someone named Charles who drives for the company.
