Six picked for all-region team

Six members of the Jones County softball team have received all-region honors, as voted on by the coaches of Region 2-AAAAA.

Junior Kylie Bass was named pitcher of the year and named to the all-region first team. Also selected for the first team were junior catcher Charli Justice, senior second baseman Olivia Lane and junior center fielder Jazmine Washington.

Earning second team honors were senior designated hitter Kaitlin Stokes and freshman outfielder Bree Comer.

Houston County senior shortstop Carson Carreker was named region player of the year.

Other first team selections were pitcher Emily Hittenger, Houston County; catcher Lee Anne Rees, Greenbrier; designated hitter Kirsten Titus, Greenbrier; infielder Taylor Dupree, Greenbrier; infielder Kristen McMonigle, Greenbrier; infielder Elyssa Melton, Evans; infielder Haley Tierce, Houston County; outfielder Amber Coy, Houston County; outfielder Savannah Gabriel, Evans; and outfielder Maddie Hunt, Greenbrier.
