Crunch time starts Friday for the Greyhounds when they host Lakeside-Evans in a crucial game to begin their three-game stretch drive to make it into the state playoffs.

“We need to win all three, but we really need to win this one to have a legitimate chance to get there,” Jones County coach Dwight Jones said of Friday night’s matchup with the Panthers.

“It’s senior night and a big game for us, so I hope we have a great turnout and a lot of support,” he added.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Greyhound Field.

Last year, the Greyhounds downed Lakeside on the road after a lopsided loss to top-ranked Northside-Warner Robins to start a three-game sweep to make it into the state playoffs for the first time since 2004.

Jones County was again beaten soundly by the again top-ranked Eagles last Thursday, losing 49-21 in Warner Robins.
