GRAY: Betty Lou Vinson Bell, 75, of Woodland Road, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, in a local nursing home. The family received friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Bridges Funeral Home in Gray. Funeral services are being held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Gordon, with Creston Groover officiating.

Mrs. Bell, the daughter of the late Arthur Vinson and Annie Lee Brown Vinson, was born in Gordon on Feb. 5, 1938, and had lived in Gray for the past 30 years. Most of her life was dedicated to raising her family, and in her retirement years she worked as a director of food ministry for the Macon Baptist Association. Mrs. Bell was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Jones County and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Elliot Bell; brothers, Andrew “Unky” Vinson, Harold Vinson, Robert “Boots” Vinson and James “Buddy” Vinson; and by her sisters, Patty Henderson and Annie Ruth Nelson.

Mrs. Bell leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Mike Davis; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Lisa Bell and Jeff and Sandra Bell; grandchildren, Eryn Sanders, Christopher Davis, Misti Andrews, Marlayna Smith, Kendra Wilson, Vincent Bell and Jennifer Wallace; great-grandchildren, Keaton Sanders, Lucas Andrews, Skylar Andrews, Kailyn Wilson, Caleb Wilson and Will Wallace; brothers, Ben Vinson and Brown Vinson; and by her sisters, Mary “Kitty” Davis and Virginia Bullington.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Georgia, 886 Mulberry St., Macon, GA 31201.
