Jones County honored a valued employee last week with a retirement resolution commemorating her more than two decades of service.

Vicki Ann Helton started her career at the Jones County Public Library Dec. 11, 1989, and will retire 24 years later, Jan. 1, 2014. Helton and her husband, Larry, moved to Jones County from Wrightsville and have one daughter, Hannah.

The honoree has been the branch manager of the library since January of 2011.

A reception was held in her honor at the library Dec. 27, and she was presented with her retirement resolution by the Jones County Board of Commissioners by its chairman, Preston Hawkins.

The resolution states that Helton is honored for the exemplary job she has done in managing all aspects of the library.

“Doing whatever it took to accomplish the job is managing the library and safe guarding its assets and resources,” the document stated.
