Three of Jones County’s middle school basketball teams have advanced to the Central Georgia Middle School Athletic League playoffs.

The top-seeded Clifton Ridge boys host Greenville at 5 p.m. on Friday in a first round game, and the Clifton Ridge girls face Kennedy Road of Griffin in the opening round on Thursday.

The Gray Station girls play at Carver Road in Griffin at 5 p.m. on Thursday in the first round.

The Clifton Ridge boys finished the regular season with a 65-14 victory over Byron at home last Thursday. Octavius Reed and Teldrick Ross scored 13 points each to lead the Cougars, and Dayton Hunt added nine.

The Lady Cougars whipped Byron 38-8, with Coy Juhan and Patra Walker scoring seven points apiece for Clifton Ridge. Juhan also had eight rebounds.

After bashing Byron 49-2 on Jan. 16, the Gray Station girls lost twice last week, falling 39-35 at Crawford County last Tuesday and 49-40 at Fort Valley on Thursday.
