It is win or go home time for the Jones County Greyhounds and Lady Hounds as the post-season playoffs begin in high school basketball.

The Region 2-AAAAA Tournament was to begin Tuesday afternoon in Evans, weather permitting. The threat of snow and sleet already brought about changes in the schedule, and whether or not the wintry weather materialized will determine when the teams play.

The Greyhounds (14-10), the third seed from the west subregion, were to play east second seed Lakeside-Evans (17-5) at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the opening round at Greenbrier High School. The winning team advances to the region semifinals and to the state playoffs, but the loser’s season ends.

West top seed Warner Robins (21-2) was to face east fourth seed Greenbrier (12-13) at 4 p.m. The other two first round boys’ games, which were originally scheduled for Tuesday night at Greenbrier, were moved to the afternoon at nearby Evans High School to avoid the bad weather. No. 2 west seed Northside-Warner Robins (18-6) was to play No. 3 east seed Grovetown (10-15) at 4 p.m., and No. 1 east seed Evans (17-8) was to play No. 4 west seed Houston County (7-17) at 5:30 p.m.
