Mustard Seed Ministries is planning to introduce itself to the people in Gray and Jones County who do not know what it does, Feb. 24 at 6: 45 p.m. The introduction is in the form of a gathering that ministry founder Gary Hargis hopes will fill the W.E. Knox Civic Center.
Mustard Seed Ministries is headquartered in Gordon and has been in operation for 10 years. Hargis said the ministry actually started with a church squabble. After the disagreement was over, he said he went home disgruntled with himself.
“I felt God say ‘get off your fanny and start helping someone’,” he said, and that is how it began.
Hargis said he got on his lawn mower the next day and started cutting grass for people who needed the help.
“I started working and praying, and then I got a couple of guys to help with building some ramps,” he said.
