The Lady Hounds downed Mary Persons 4-1 and the Greyhounds won 3-2 in Forsyth last Monday. In a region home match against Warner Robins on Tuesday, the Jones County girls and boys both won 4-1.
The Lady Hounds are now 8-1 on the season and 5-0 in Region 2-AAAAA play. The Greyhounds are also 8-1 overall and 4-1 in the region.
For the Lady Hounds against Mary Persons, Jazmine Washington downed Alexxis Williams 8-4, Makayla Schafer fell to Abby Owens 1-8, Sarah Pounds beat Ellie Cottle 8-5, Olivia Lane and McKenzie Barnes won 8-4, and Kaitlyn Holder and Rosanna Baker won 8-5.
For the Greyhounds, Jacob Wills downed Justin McKinney 8-4, Coleman Hice beat Will Newton 8-2 and Travis Aultman downed Connor Johnson 8-6 in singles. Jones County lost both doubles matches, with Hank Pittman and Robby Lanterman falling 1-8 and Daniel Anderson and Christian Hursey also losing 1-8.
Against Warner Robins, Wills fell to Leon Wilhelm 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, Hice downed Randy Kim 6-4, 6-7, 7-5, Aultman rallied past Paola Francisco 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, Pittman and Lanterman defeated Mark Elliott and Sean Schubert 6-2, 6-2, and Anderson and Hursey topped Keshaun Harden and Nick Leon 7-6, 7-6.
